Wedding flatlays are a beautiful and important way to capture and showcase the many details and elements of your wedding day. Sometimes, we love creating a whimsical composition with lots of details, other times, we limit ourselves to very minimalistic and sophisticated shots like this one. It mostly depends on the style of the wedding day and the items we were provided with. The goal is to create a visually appealing composition that captures the essence of your wedding and reflects your personal style and aesthetic.

Here's our list of items that might be included in such shots, besides our own styling props:

  • Shoes: Whether you're wearing heels or flats, your wedding shoes can make for a great addition to your flatlay.
  • Rings in a lovely box: To create a stunning wedding ring shot, start by choosing a box that complements the style and color scheme of your wedding. A velvet box can help to highlight the preciousness and significance of your rings, while also adding texture and visual accent to your photo. Consider using a box that matches your wedding colors.
  • Invitation suite: Including your wedding invitations in your flatlay is a great way to tie in your wedding stationery and create a cohesive look.
  • Menu and name cards, any other calligraphy items
  • Vow books: Vow books are a beautiful and meaningful keepsake that can serve as a reminder of the heartfelt promises you made to each other on your wedding day.
  • Floral leftovers (ask your planner or florist to save some trimmings for us)
  • Perfume: Your wedding day perfume can add a personal touch to your flatlay.
  • Jewelry: From your engagement ring to your earrings and necklace, any jewelry you plan to wear on your wedding day can be included in your flatlay.
  • Bouquet: Your bridal bouquet is another important item to consider.
  • Ribbon from your bouquet or invitations
  • Any other sentimental items that have a significant value to you

In order to make things run smoothly, we always recommend putting all your small details in a ziploc and/or a small shoe box, so they’re ready to hand to your photographer!

Remember, your flatlay should be a reflection of your personal style and the details that are important to you.

Don't be afraid to get creative and have fun with it!
